Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 27, 2026

Sola Launcher (“the App”) is developed and published by Alix Le Bert (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and what your rights are.

1. Our principle: everything stays on your device

Sola Launcher is designed to be a privacy-respecting product. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. The App has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no remote server of our own. Everything you do with Sola Launcher stays on your device.

2. Android permissions and on-device data

To provide its features, the App requests certain Android permissions. The data accessed by each permission is processed locally on your device and never leaves it, except as explicitly described below.

Location (optional)

Used to fetch the local weather forecast displayed on the home screen. Your approximate coordinates are sent over HTTPS to the public Open-Meteo API to retrieve the forecast. Open-Meteo does not require an account and does not store identifying data (see their privacy notice). If you deny this permission, the App falls back to a default city.

Calendar (optional)

Used to display your upcoming events on the home screen. Events are read locally from your device's calendar provider and never transmitted anywhere.

Activity Recognition (optional)

Used to display your daily step count on the home screen. Step data is read locally from the device sensor and never transmitted.

Notification access (optional)

Used to display unread-notification badges on app icons. Notification metadata is read locally and never transmitted.

Accessibility service (optional)

Used to perform on-device gestures (screenshot, flashlight, system actions) configured by you. The service does not log, record, or transmit any screen content.

App usage statistics (optional)

Used to compute and display your most-used app and screen-time information on the left page. Usage data is read locally via Android's standard API and never transmitted.

3. Network requests

The App makes outbound network requests only in the following cases:

4. Data we do not collect

5. Backup and restore

The App relies on Android's built-in Auto Backup service to save your settings and custom wallpapers to your personal Google Drive (if you have enabled this feature in your device settings). This backup is managed entirely by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We have no access to it.

6. Children

Sola Launcher does not target children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Because we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no data on our side to access, rectify, delete, or port. Removing the App from your device removes all locally stored data. For any question, contact support@sola-launcher.com.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in the future (for instance, because a new feature changes what permissions are used), the updated version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
